Most of my spare time is spent doing something with my bike, so
my other hobbies have become a bit less-practiced in the last year
or so. I also enjoy occasional wood-working, and my neighbors marvel
at my selection of different saws for cutting things! I've made
furniture for Suzy's classroom, and various wooden teaching tools. I
sew when I need to (recently had to sew a split in the seat of the
bike!) and make curtains, and repair and hem clothes when necessary.
I enjoy cooking, but hate cleaning up the mess afterward. Basically,
I enjoy fixing things, especially when I will be able to save money
by doing so, and be able to use the item after I fix it.
I'm a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I hold a calling in the Primary organization that allows me to teach
a class of young boys (age 8-12) on Sundays, following a lesson
manual provided me at the beginning of each year. I've been teaching
this class since December 2007. It's a challenge, but I find that I
learn at the same time, and It's fun to see when things actually
click with the boys.
My Career:
I'm a Computer/Network tech and officially the "Communications
Administrator" for the St. Louis office of
Phoenix International Freight
Services, Ltd.
I take care of anything that plugs into the wall. Phones,
computers, copiers, blown circuit breakers, space heaters, etc. I
even hang pictures on the wall when the company decides to
re-decorate! I manage the fleet of over 85 copiers across the
country in all 27 US offices, and keep track of everything about
them. I also maintain the user list in the company's national e-mail
system. I add new users and remove them when they leave the company.
I manage the data in the system to make sure that the hundreds of
contacts are all kept up-to-date as well.
